This space is for those who are interested in disseminating species recently discovered in Brazil. Particularly I am publishing two new species of Anthurium, in co-authored with Dr. Eduardo Catharino, found in the State of Sao Paulo A. alcatrazense and A. navicularis. The first is endemic of the island of Alcatrazes, near the coast of the municipality of São Sebastião, the second is endemic of Ecological Station Juréia-Itatins (same locality of occurrence of A. jureianum), in the municipality of Peruíbe.
A new species of Anthurium was discovered in the city of Campos, north of the state of Rio de Janeiro. The species was collected by Dr. John Marcelo Braga and has as main features the small size of inflorescence and whitish coloration of spadix. It is considered rare.
