Welcome to the Araceae Network

This site aims to complement the CATE Araceae site, to provide an area for discussion forums about Araceae systematics, to stimulate debate focused on achieving a consensus taxonomy of the species and to provide overviews of other areas of aroid research. The CATE site aims to provide a framework for an ongoing unitary taxonomy of the Araceae; its goal is to have Araceae taxonomy online in a form which can be maintained up-to-date by a global network of aroid taxonomists.

Araceae Network News Update

Please visit the CATE-araceae website at www.cate-araceae.org

When the CATE-araceae.org site is fully up and running we would advise you to submit any relevent material arising in these forum discussions to the official CATE-araceae site in order to get full recognition. As a temporary measure if you have any contributions you would like to make then feel free to contact the team and we can put it up there for you. (ah22kg@kew.org)

13/07/08 New material is now live on the cate site.

19/03/08 We are now able to create specific area groups (see Brazil) If you have a project currently underway or you are interested in a variety of Aroids from a particular area please contact me on ah22kg@kew.org and we can set you up an individual page.

21/02/08 All forums are now present and ready to be used. If you wish to upload an image please can you make sure that you say which genus name it is: under the scroll down 'araceae genera' otherwise your image will not appear under that genus page. If the image is not genus related but related to a forum discussion please put it in the image gallery still.

15/2/08 Following my attendance at a training course for scratchpads it has been revealed that there will be new and exciting ways to display information due to be released very soon. I will try to set these up to make the site more user friendly as soon as i can. Please look in again at the site mid-april. As you will notice there is now an interactive list of genus names on the left, i intend to attach an individual forum to each of these and also link any documents and images relating to this to the page you are relocated to when you press the blue cross. This should all be complete by the end of the month but the interface will not be ready untill the beginning of April so please bare with us. The current forums that do not apply to a particular genus will remain under 'forums'.

15/01/08 The forums have now been updated. Please feel free to peruse them and start contributing. We are still having problems with internet explorer so please use another browser to view the forums.
